The Federal Trade Commission has issued regulations that require tax preparation firms to provide an annual statement of firm privacy policies. I handle all information with the utmost confidentiality. Your personal information will only be used to prepare your tax return. Your personal information will not be disclosed to anyone outside the firm without your written consent to do so, or unless the firm is legally required to do so.
If you apply for a bank product such as Refund Transfer, you authorize the Tax Preparer, ERO, Transmitter and the IRS or applicable state taxing authority to disclose your tax return and refund information to Bank and Servicer. You acknowledge that Bank and Servicer may share information about you with the Tax Preparer, ERO, the Transmitter and Third-Party product providers to the extend necessary to process your tax product request.
You should also be aware that anything you tell us during the interview for the preparation of your tax return is confidential, but not protected from the IRS. Privileged communications (those that are protected from IRS authority to compel our testimony) are limited to non-criminal tax advice on matters before the IRS or non-criminal tax proceedings in federal courts. Although we consider any information you provide us as confidential, return preparation engagements are not covered by advisor-client privilege.
